“I booked a private sunset boat tour with Simon expecting four pleasant hours on the Oslofjord. What I received instead was a complete reevaluation of my standards for both humanity and watercraft. Simon pilots a boat with the effortless confidence of a Viking who has accepted LinkedIn into his life but not his heart. We rocketed across the fjord at speeds that made nearby seagulls briefly question their career choices, then slowed to a peaceful glide through quiet coves and islands so picturesque that I’m reasonably certain Norway hired a full-time team to arrange them. We hopped ashore to wander tiny islands, collected seashells like particularly enthusiastic pirates, and somehow found ourselves eating chocolate and fresh strawberries while watching the sunset. At one point I looked around and concluded that if this wasn’t a tourism advertisement, then tourism advertisements had been underselling Norway for decades. Simon wasn’t just a captain. He was historian, comedian, photographer, local ambassador, and—judging from his ability to appear exactly where the light was perfect—possibly in a long-term business relationship with the sun itself. We smiled the entire trip. I laughed until my face hurt. The fjord sparkled. The boat purred. The strawberries tasted like they’d been negotiated directly with nature. If you’re debating whether to book this experience, stop debating. Cancel whatever else you had planned. Reschedule your wedding if necessary. This four-hour sunset cruise was the undisputed highlight of our time in Oslo. Five stars feels inadequate. I’d give it six, but Norway probably has a regulation about exceeding the legal maximum beauty per evening.”
Simon and Adrian arranged a fantastic voyage in the Oslo Fjord for our team day-out, sailing along the coast and into the fjord, with snacks and drinks, good music, diving from the boat mid-fjord, and sharing sailing tips and tricks. They are a very experienced, pleasant and service minded crew and I can recommend to everyone taking a boat trip with Oslo Sea Experience.
We had an amazing day with Are aboard Lola. The boat is a beauty and so comfortable for touring Oslo’s fjords. Great history of the area as we cruised around We were lucky to hit a heat wave so our stop for a swim was perfect Added the Champagne and snacks. Ended up being ideal as it was the end of strawberry season and the strawberries were absolutely fantastic, and the champagne came in handy for celebrating the birth of our first grandson. Are was such an enthusiastic participant in this great milestone. 100 % recommend. You will not be disappointed in selecting this outing
Without a doubt, this was one of the most beautiful and unforgettable experiences of our entire trip to Norway. We spent six incredible hours exploring the Oslo Fjord on a beautiful private boat. The scenery was absolutely breathtaking, the boat was perfect, and our captain took us to some truly spectacular places that we would have never discovered on our own. But this day became even more special for us because this was the day I proposed to my girlfriend, Jenny. Choosing to propose to her during this private boat trip through the fjords was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I honestly could not have imagined a more beautiful setting for such an important moment in our lives. Surrounded by the incredible Norwegian scenery, on the water, with complete privacy and such a peaceful atmosphere, everything felt absolutely perfect. It is a moment we will remember for the rest of our lives. And a huge part of what made the experience so special was our captain. From the very beginning, he made us feel completely welcome and comfortable. He was not only an excellent captain and guide, but also genuinely wonderful company. We had great conversations throughout the day, he shared stories and local knowledge with us, showed us beautiful hidden places, and made the entire experience feel personal rather than simply another tourist excursion. By the end of the six hours, it honestly felt like we had spent the day exploring the fjords with a friend. The boat was beautiful, the views were spectacular, the tour was incredible, and the captain was a 10/10. If you are visiting Oslo and looking for a private and truly memorable experience on the fjord, I cannot recommend this enough. And if you are considering doing something special — an anniversary, a celebration, or even proposing to the person you love — I cannot imagine a better place or a better experience to do it. Thank you for being part of one of the most important and happiest days of our lives. We will never forget it, and we hope to come back and see you again someday!
I had an incredible experience with Oslo Sea Experience. I’ve been on boat tours in different parts of the world, and this one truly stands out. Captain Simon was much more than a great captain—he was fun, kind, thoughtful, and genuinely cared about making sure everyone had the best possible experience. Even when it started raining for a little while, he adapted everything so we could still enjoy the tour. The rain quickly became irrelevant because the outstanding hospitality, breathtaking views, and overall experience took center stage. The boat itself is beautiful, comfortable, and equipped with everything you need to enjoy Oslo with your friends or family in a relaxed and memorable way. If you want to experience Oslo from a unique perspective, I couldn’t recommend this more. I would absolutely do it again!
It was great! A sunny day and calm sea. We took the 6-hour trip. After a tour of the fjord near Oslo, we sailed to Drøbak for a quick shopping stop at Santa's house 🎅🏻 and then had a meal at Håøya. To try the goat/halloumi burger 😋😋😋 We decided to skip the swim stop to prioritise exploring, but that was our choice. That's what's great about it — the programme isn't set in stone. Simon is passionate and gave us plenty of insight into Norway and its history, the fjord and the Vikings. Really interesting, and the best part was that he spoke excellent French. If you want quality explanations and a relaxed family or couples outing on a beautiful boat, you're in the right place.
The 3 hour trip with our Captain Simon was incredible. He explained the boat and a few of its features as he took us on a rough tour around the harbour answering all of our questions before opening up on the open water as we sailed between the fjords. We had a great balance between learning about the culture of the fjords, taking in the scenery and also enjoying the boat as we skipped along. Simon also brought snacks for us to enjoy while anchored in a cove admiring the views and listening to the birds. We got exceedingly lucky for the weather with clear skies and calm waters but would've enjoyed it none the less. It was a fantastic trip and Simon was a fantastic captain. I'd definitely book again.
