Where do tours depart from?

All tours depart from Tjuvholmen in central Oslo — one of the most accessible waterfront areas in the city. It's a short walk from Aker Brygge and the National Museum. Your captain will send exact meeting-point details and a map pin after you book.

How many people can join a tour?

Our Cormate T28 takes up to 7 guests comfortably. For larger groups we can arrange multiple boats — just get in touch and we'll figure out the best setup.

What is included in the tour price?

Every tour includes the boat with a dedicated captain, fuel, snacks, soft drinks, and complimentary drone photography and video of your trip. Depending on the package, you may also get a champagne toast, extended catering, or a full island picnic. Check each tour's description for the details.

What are your prices?

All prices are per group, not per person. A 3-hour Private Cruise starts at NOK 14,900, the Sunset Cruise is NOK 15,900, and a full-day 6-hour Private Cruise is NOK 19,900. The Luxury Experience with premium catering is NOK 29,900. For a group of 7, that works out to around NOK 2,100–4,300 per person — comparable to a nice dinner in Oslo, but on the fjord.

Can I customise a tour?

Absolutely — most of our tours are customised. Want to visit a specific island? Combine sightseeing with swimming? Celebrate a birthday with a cake on board? Just tell us what you have in mind when you book and your captain will plan a route around it.

Question 7

Are tours available year-round?

Accepted Answer

We operate from April through October. The core season is May to September, when the long Scandinavian daylight and warmer water make for the best experience. Shoulder months (April and October) are available on request — the fjord is beautiful in autumn light, just bring warmer layers.

What is your cancellation policy?

Accepted Answer

Full refund for cancellations made at least 48 hours before your tour. Within 48 hours, we offer a 50% refund or free rescheduling subject to availability. If we cancel due to weather, you always get a full refund or a new date — no questions asked.

Question 9

What should I wear or bring?

Accepted Answer

Dress for the weather plus one layer warmer than you think — it's a few degrees cooler on the water. Wear shoes with non-marking soles (trainers or deck shoes are perfect, avoid heels). We recommend sunglasses, sunscreen, and a light jacket even in summer. We provide everything else.

What happens in bad weather?

Safety comes first. If conditions are unsafe — strong wind, heavy rain, or storms — we'll contact you to reschedule or offer a full refund. Light rain or overcast skies are not a problem; the Cormate T28 handles choppy water well and some of the most dramatic fjord photos come from moody weather days.

Are life jackets provided?

Yes. We carry life jackets for all passengers in all sizes. Your captain will point out the safety equipment at the start of the trip. Children must wear life jackets at all times on board.

Can children join the tours?

Children of all ages are welcome. We've hosted families with toddlers, teenagers, and everyone in between. The boat has a secure cockpit and your captain will adapt speed and route to suit the group. Life jackets for children are always on board.

Can I bring my dog?

Well-behaved dogs are welcome on private charters. Just let us know when booking so the captain can prepare. Many of the islands we visit have great spots for dogs to run. Simon's dog occasionally joins tours too.

Can I bring my own food and drinks?

On private charters, you're welcome to bring whatever you like. For our curated experiences (Sunset Cruise, Luxury Experience), we provide catering — just let us know about any dietary requirements or allergies in advance.

Can you swim in the Oslo Fjord?

Accepted Answer

Yes — and you should. The Oslofjord has clean, swimmable water in summer, typically reaching 18-22 degrees C in July and August. We know the best swimming spots: sheltered bays near the islands of Gressholmen, Hovedøya, and Langøyene, and quieter coves further out that you can only reach by boat. Just bring a towel — jumping in is optional but highly encouraged.

Is the Oslo Fjord actually a fjord?

Technically, no. The Oslofjord is a strait — an inlet of the Skagerrak — rather than a true glacially carved fjord like those on Norway's west coast. But it has been called a fjord for centuries and the name stuck. It stretches about 100 km from the open sea to Oslo, dotted with islands, lighthouses, and forested shorelines. Whatever you call it, it's beautiful.

What wildlife might we see?

The Oslofjord is home to harbour porpoises (Norway's only resident cetacean), seals, sea eagles, cormorants, herons, and occasionally even minke whales in the outer fjord. Underwater, the fjord supports cod, mackerel, lobster, and rich kelp forests. Your captain will point out wildlife as you go — Are in particular has a knack for spotting porpoises.

What languages do the captains speak?

Between our three captains, we cover Norwegian, English, French, German, and Spanish. Most tours are conducted in English, but we're happy to switch languages to suit your group.

We use the Cormate T28 — a 28-foot daycruiser designed and built in Norway. It's known for its deep-V hull (stable in waves), spacious cockpit, premium sound system, and elegant Scandinavian design. It seats up to 7 guests plus the captain.

Do you have accessible facilities?

The Cormate T28 is a sport boat with a step-down entry into the cockpit. We can assist guests with limited mobility on a case-by-case basis, but the boat does not have wheelchair access or an onboard bathroom. Please contact us to discuss your needs and we'll do our best to accommodate.

How fast does the boat go?

The Cormate T28 cruises comfortably at 20-25 knots and tops out at around 38 knots. In practice, we vary the speed to suit the moment — fast when you want the thrill, slow when you want to take in the scenery or snap a photo.
