West past the swimming coves, into Ny-Hellesund where sailing ships once waited out storms, then the Blindleia: twenty kilometres of protected lane behind the skerries, white houses on both sides nearly all the way to Lillesand.
There's time for everything the short trip has to skip: a proper lunch ashore in an uthavn, a second swim, the detour Bjarne thinks is worth it that particular day. Back in Kristiansand in the soft afternoon light.
