The half day is the classic Kristiansand trip. You cast off from Fiskebrygga in the middle of town, slip past Odderøya and Bragdøya, and within fifteen minutes the city is behind you and the skerries take over — smooth grey rock, pine, white cottages, water that stays calm a few metres off the shore.
Bjarne threads the Skippergada between the Randøy islands slowly, then finds a sheltered cove for a swim — the Sørlandet sea holds 18–22°C in July and August, Norway's warmest. The route is never fixed: the weather and what you want decide it on the day.
